Treatment Modality
Dr. Cocoli’s mode of therapy is long-term with focus on thoughts, feelings, and emotions that may have led you to seek therapy. These thoughts, feelings, and emotions are likely to have been in your mind for a long time and will be discussed in the therapy sessions. There will be times when our work brings up emotions that might be more painful and more difficult to speak about. This is a normal part of psychotherapy. During these times we may increase the weekly number of sessions in order to dedicate more attention to these emotions and understand them better so that improvements can be possible. Because of these reasons, it is difficult to determine at the outset how many sessions or much time it will take to complete psychotherapy.
It is commonly known that therapy works best inside the frame of the clinical office. This is your space, literally and figuratively, to explore your inner world, your ways of interacting with your loved ones, family, and friends, your decisions in life, your relationships. Towards this end, Dr. Cocoli encourages that any and all topics be discussed within the boundaries of this space. Psychotherapy sessions are 50 minutes long. They are typically weekly, but they could also be held two or more times a week.
