Treatment Modality
Dr. Cocoli is a clinical psychologist, licensed to provide psychological services in the state of Washington. She is an independent practitioner at Fountaingate Psychological and Family Services. Dr. Cocoli holds a doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Seattle Pacific University and a doctoral-level degree in Social and Developmental Psychology from the Catholic University in Milan, Italy. She is trained and experienced in providing a variety of psychological services such as psychotherapy, psychological assessment, crisis intervention/stabilization, and consultation services. She has worked with multiple populations, including adults, adolescents, couples, active-duty service members, retired military personnel, military families, high school and college students, psychiatric patients, prisoners, and the courts. She has held teaching appointments with local schools and universities and is affiliated to local and national psychology associations.
Dr. Cocoli’s mode of therapy is two-fold: (1) focus on the issues that may have led you to seek therapy or counseling and (2) explore thoughts and emotions that often go hand-in-hand. Sometimes, these issues are short and well-organized and the help they need is also short and focused. Other times, these issues may uncover broader areas that are likely to have been in your mind for a longer time. A more in-depth approach may be preferred. There may be times in the course of psychotherapy when emotions may become more difficult to speak about. This is a normal part of psychotherapy. During these times, it is important to speak out about them in order to understand them better so that improvements can be possible.
