Treatment Methods and Philosophy
I use "insight" in all of my therapy. One definition of insight is "the power or act of seeing into a situation or into oneself." This is a large and splendid concept. All of us develop defense mechanisms to protect ourselves, and this is a good thing. Such mechanisms serve us well in many instances: when we are afraid, over-whelmed with events beyond our control, in dealing with grief and so on. When these defense mechanisms become outworn and counterproductive for us we often find ourselves in trouble. A great deal can be learned with the help of a compassionate, intuitive therapist, with regard to discovering and defusing our defense mechanisms and when they become problems within our lives. This often takes both guidance and practice. With my education and vast experience in counseling for 32 years administered with a great deal of kindness, I feel qualified to help you to bring insight and healing to your situation.
