Dr. Murphy is a Pediatric Neuropsychologist. She spent her internship at the Hawaii Department of Health, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Division, doing neuropsychology assessment and treatment; and her postdoctoral fellowship at a neuropsychology site in Honolulu (Child and Adolescent Resources). Her specialties include assessment and treatment for children, adolescents and adults with Asperger’s Syndrome, Autistic Disorder, Pervasive Developmental Disorders, ADHD, Learning Disorders, Processing Disorders, and problems secondary to medical conditions. She also works in general psychology, seeing people with depression, anxiety, family problems, communication problems, anger problems, and life enhancement. She is a member of the American Psychological Association, the National Registry of Psychologists, the American Academy of Clinical Neuropsychology, the American Neurology Association, the National Academy of Neuropsychology, and the International Neuropsychological Society. She belongs to the International Dyslexia Association, the Washington Autism Society, and the Brain Injury Society.
Treatment Emphasis
Assessment and treatment for the conditions listed above. Treatment emphasis includes CBT, Behavioral Therapy, Neuropsychology, and insight-based Psychodynamic type therapy.
Treatment Philosophy/Message to prospective patients
I like to see children that no one knows what to do with; those who have not been able to be diagnosed, or who have been mis-diagnosed or diagnosed with many different things. I like to work with our “mystery kids”. If you come work with me, we will have fun, and learn a lot.
